The orchestra was established in 2014 by Adrián Varela and Andrea Broughton with the aim of giving Lewisham its own symphony orchestra, given the high concentration of top-notch musicians living in the borough and the hunger of local people for high quality music-making. Its core members are professional & amateur musicians from or resident in Lewisham, and also include young players from the top London music colleges. The result is an orchestra of the highest quality, working in an inclusive, congenial atmosphere, giving exciting, memorable concerts for the benefit of the community.
Based in Honor Oak Park, the orchestra has proudly gained an ever-growing local following. OTHS soloists include some of the finest musicians in the UK, including principal players of the Philharmonia Orchestra, actress Diana Aubrey and star of Strinctly Come Dancing, bandoneonist Julian Rowlands.
A different charity is selected for each event. One Tree Hill Sinfonia support international, national and local charities helping communities and individuals.
