The orchestra, established in 2014 and comprised of the best local professional & amateur musicians plus music students from top music colleges, aims to bring symphonic music of the highest standards to local audiences, whilst donating all proceeds to charity.
Based in Honor Oak Park, and enjoying a loyal, growing local following, OTHS soloists include some of the finest musicians in the UK, including principal players of the Philharmonia Orchestra, actress Diana Aubrey and bandoneon star Julian Rowlands, of Strictly Come Dancing fame.
A different charity is selected for each event. One Tree Hill Sinfonia support international, national and local charities.
Adrián is the conductor and Artistic Director of the One Tree Hill Sinfonia and of the National Youth Orchestra of Poland. Hi is also a member of the Philharmonia Orchestra first violin section.
His first conducing teacher was the late Lorin Maazel, who remained an important reference point with direct contact throughout Adrián's professional life. A native of Uruguay, Adrián later studied with Roberto Montenegro, himself a protegee of Celebidache. Despite his young age, by the time he arrived in London for postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Adrián had conducted professionally for three years, culminating in staged runs of Purcell's 'Dido & Aeneas' and Mozart's 'Bastian und Bastienne'.
Adrián and his holistic approach to conducing combined with teaching are in wide demand. He has pioneered new media and concert formats, including performing live with a headcam in the Philharmonia's ground-breaking digital instalation Re-Rite and teaching/coaching via skype to the UK and abroad. Adrián blogs on aesthetics, orchestral and study strategies through his and the Philharmonia's digital platforms.
As a composer, his works have been performed by Vladimir Ashkenazy, James Ehnes, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Deutsche Symphonie Orchester Berlin live in North & South America, Europe and the Far East. His music has been broadcast by BBC Radio 3, BBC Worldservice, Tokyo FM, National Polish Radio and over Uruguayan national & commerical radio and television.
